Foreign Exchange Students

A globally-competitive international program
Go to Exchange Student Information  >

KU sends more than 1,200 students abroad based on its student exchange agreement with 992 prestigious schools in 95 countries around the world. In this student exchange program, our students can still acquire credits while studying abroad and learning foreign languages and culture for one or two semesters.

  1. 1. Student Exchange Program (SEP) / International Student Exchange Program (ISEP): Undergraduate or graduate students can study at overseas tertiary-level academic institutions that have signed a student exchange agreement with KU after paying tuition to KU. Credits acquired from overseas colleges can be transferred as KU credits.
  2. 2. Study Abroad at One’s Own Expense: This is a study abroad program separate from the student exchange program administered by the Office of International Affairs. Students can study at overseas tertiary academic institutions for either one semester or one year, and credits earned can be transferred as KU credits. Students can study at any four-year overseas tertiary academic institution regardless of whether it has a student exchange agreement with KU.
