Korea University Constitution Article 37 (Time Limits for Course Completion), Academic Regulations Article 58 (Early Graduation: General)

Definition

Early Graduation by shortening the time limit for course completion stipulated under the national law or school regulations.

Eligibility
  • Students who have completed at least 17(18) credits in each semester (for an exchange semester at a foreign university, at least 15 approved credits) with no F grades.
  • Students who have completed 108 credits or more from their fifth through sixth semesters (112 credits for the department/division/school requiring more than 135 credits and 117 credits for the department/division/school requiring more than 140 credits for graduation).

    • GPAs are based on all grades received, including courses retaken and/or withdrawn.
Graduation Requirements
  • Students requesting early graduation must meet all the graduation requirements stipulated by each college/division/school.
  • Students shall be disqualified from graduating early if the conditions and requirements for early graduation stipulated in the Constitution and Academic Regulations are not met.
    (If the student’s early graduation is canceled or disqualified, the student must register and complete the regularly required number of semesters (eight semesters or more).
  • Students requesting early graduation must have achieved an overall GPA of at least 4.00.
Conditions for Eligibility
  • Students who have never received an academic warning.
  • Transfer students are excluded.
  • Students who have completed at least 17 (18) credits every semester. (Grades received from 2003 and after are eligible.)
  • Students who have not received any F grades. (Grades received from 2003 and after are applied.)
  • Students subject to the following are not eligible for early graduation:
    • Students affiliated with the Department of Architecture at the College of Engineering, College of Medicine, Department of Cyber Defense, and College of Pharmacy
    • Transfer students
    • Students with an academic warning on their record.

  • Early March (Spring Semester), Early September (Fall Semester)

Early Graduation: Special Circumstances

Eligibility

Students who have been approved for the Bachelor-Master’s Integrated Program at the Graduate School.

Graduation requirements for the Bachelor-Master’s Integrated Program:
  • Satisfying the graduation requirements stipulated in Articles 56 and 57 of the Academic Regulations
  • Achieving an overall GPA 4.0 or higher over the entire course of study
  • Having registered for more than seven semesters.
Required Documents
  • Application for Early Graduation (prescribed form)
  • A copy of a recommendation letter for pursuing a Master’s program
